Press release from TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce: April 4, 2022 The Boyertown Area Multi-Service is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Preston's Pantry Food Drive and Community Event on Saturday, May 7, 2022 to honor the legacy of Preston's selflessness and passion for helping others. Activities will be held between 10:00 am through 4:00 pm at the Boyertown Area Multi-Service, located at 200 West Spring St, Boyertown PA. Admission is free, but we ask that everyone attending bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Preston's Pantry. We are excited to hold this year's event on Preston's birthday and have his legacy live on by giving to those in need. In May 2018, when Preston was 8 years old he ran a food drive for a school project and collected 45 pounds of food. His passion for helping others in this community touched our hearts when we delivered his donation to the Multi-Service facility. Food Programs Manager, Olivia Merry, says "Preston's kindness has brought awareness to our community and especially youth in our area. The community support through the tragedy and Covid-19 has been amazing!" The Community Pantry has seen an increase in clients over the last two years. On average, the Pantry serves over 200 families every month with food assistance to those who currently do not have the financial means to meet their nutritional needs. In addition to collecting non-perishable food donations at the event, there will be a variety of activities. The community event will include food trucks, face painting, balloon animals, rock painting, petting zoo and more. T-shirts will be available for sale and there will also be a basket raffle where all proceeds will be used to support the Pantry's efforts to combat food insecurity in our service area. For all the updated details, find the 4th Annual Preston's Pantry Food Drive and Community Event on Facebook. The staff at Boyertown Area Multi-Service and Preston's Pantry Project committee members are looking forward to a fun community event. We wouldn't be able to do what we can without the help and support of our amazing community. This press release was produced by TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce.
