MARIN COUNTY, CA — A motorcycle crash victim was airlifted to a local hospital Wednesday afternoon in coastal Marin County, a California Highway Patrol Golden Gate Operations spokesman said.
The motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries, the CHP said.
Officers at around 2:05 p.m. responded to a report of a motorcycle down on Shoreline Highway north of Nick's Cove, the CHP said.
The circumstances surrounding crash and the motorcyclist's condition were not known as of Thursday morning, according to the CHP.
A CHP H-30 helicopter was used to bring the crash victim to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated by a trauma team, the CHP said.
The pilot got high marks for landing the chopper on the narrow winding road.
"Hats off to the amazing pilots over at @chpgoldengateairoperations who take the term "threading the needle" to a whole new level," the MCSO wrote on its Facebook page.
"Look at the precision on this landing!
