CONCORD, NH — The principal at Concord High School is asking for assistance creating a committee outside of the school to create a permanent Concord High School Wall of Fame — to highlight past graduate accomplishments. Michael Reardon said the wall would celebrate "the CHS legacy" and the "truly impressive record of graduates who have distinguished themselves in just about any area of human endeavor one could name." He thought the school could do "a much better job" of promoting the accomplishments "to inspire and guide today's (and tomorrow's) CHS students." The first organizational steps, which, he admitted, would take a lot of work, needed to include parents and residents, whether they were graduates of the school or not, so long as they would work to make the project a reality. Reardon said students and professional students would be recruited internally. The project would be launched next spring. Reardon said two organizational meetings will be set up to define the makeup of the committee and other tasks like the process for identifying potential inductees, how ceremonies for installation will be held, the location of the actual wall, and the design and costs of the plaques. "Next year," he said, "We'd do the actual work to make this all happen." Anyone interested in participating can email Reardon at [email protected]. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected].
