Press release from the St. Louis County Library: April 6, 2022 St. Louis County Library Foundation's Favorite Author Series presents acclaimed suspense author Sally Hepworth for a discussion and signing of "The Younger Wife." The event will take place on Wednesday, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from Left Bank Books. Face masks will be required for all attendees. The event will be an onstage interview with HEC Media host Angie Weidinger. "The Younger Wife" is Australian suspense author Sally Hepworth's seventh book and hands down her best yet. She keeps honing her craft and getting better and better with books, like her smash hit "The Mother-in-Law" and New York Times bestseller "The Good Sister," that are a sublime mix of laugh-inducing and page-turning, and feature memorable and unique characters readers won't come across anywhere else. In "The Younger Wife," Hepworth introduces two sisters – a kleptomaniac mom of two, and a Kim Kardashian-esque baker – as they amusingly navigate the days leading up to their father's marriage to a much younger woman, and attempt to discover why in the world their mother was hoarding a hot water bottle stuffed with cash. THE HUSBAND A heart surgeon at the top of his field, Stephen Aston is getting married again. The only problem is, he's still married to his first wife, even though she's in a care facility for dementia. But he'll take care of that easily, by divorcing her – even if his adult daughters protest. THE DAUGHTERS Tully and Rachel Aston are skeptical of their father's fiancé, Heather. Heather is the same age as Rachel, and even younger than Tully. What is it that she's after? THE YOUNGER WIFE Heather has secrets that she's keeping close, and reasons of her own for wanting to marry Stephen. Will getting to the truth unleash the most dangerous impulses in all of them? SALLY HEPWORTH is the New York Times bestselling author of seven novels, most recently "The Mother-in-Law," which was optioned for TV by actress Amy Poehler's production company, PaperKite, and "The Good Sister," an instant bestseller. Sally's books have been labeled "enchanting" by the Herald Sun, "smart and engaging" by Publishers Weekly and bestselling authors Liane Moriarty and Emily Giffin have praised Sally's novels as "women's fiction at its finest" and "totally absorbing." Program sites are accessible. With at least two weeks' notice, accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Call 314-994-3300 or contact us.
