STILLWATER, MN — The Stillwater Human Rights Commission is asking residents to submit nominations for its annual award.
The Stillwater Human Rights Award is given to an individual, business or organization working to "build an environment that promotes fair and equal treatment for everyone," officials said.

"Their special efforts are often unrecognized outside of their own circle of co-workers and neighbors," officials said. "The intent of the Stillwater Human Rights Award is to recognize worthy individuals, organizations and businesses, and support them in their efforts."
Individual nominees must live, work or volunteer in Stillwater, while businesses and organizations in the city will also be considered.

The Stillwater Human Rights Commission said nominations must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. May 31.
