Description
LAKE OSWEGO, OR — Some crime in Lake Oswego was up last year but some was down. That's according to the annual report by the city's police department, which was delivered to the city council this week.
The largest leap came in the number of reports of stolen vehicles and stolen vehicle parts. Police received 76 reports in 2021, almost double the 47 from the year before.
On the flip side, the department did recover 29 stolen vehicles, nearly 50 percent more than the year before.
There were eight robberies in 2021, double what was reported in 2020.
Meanwhile, there was a drop in reported burglaries – falling to 69 from 81.
There was a slight bump in DUII cases, up to 67 from 62.
Lake Oswego Police reported that of the 23,405 incidents they responded, only nine complaints were filed – three internally within the department and six by citizens. It was a 52 percent decrease in complaints from the year before and none of the citizen complaints were substantiated.
The report does not break down the resolution of the internal complaints.
None of the nine complaints were related to use of force.
