MAPLEWOOD, MN — The Maplewood Police Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for a monkey that was stolen from a car Tuesday night.
Maplewood police were called to the Cub Foods parking lot at 2390 White Bear Avenue North on a car theft report.
At about 8:30 p.m., a woman entered Cub Foods and left the Capuchin monkey named "CoCo Chanel" in her car. When the woman returned, the monkey and her pink carrier were missing.

The monkey's owner, Zaurice Steward, told the Star Tribune that a friend was watching CoCo when she was stolen.
"I know she must be scared because she's never been with people she doesn't know," Steward told the newspaper.
Police are asking anyone who was in or near Cub Foods Tuesday night, and who noticed anything suspicious, to call Lt. Joe Steiner at 651-249-2608 or email [email protected]. with any information.
