FREMONT, CA — A Fremont Walmart store damaged by an arson fire on March 23 has resumed pharmacy services, according to a spokesperson for Walmart. "The store has partially reopened to the public and we are offering curbside pickup for our pharmacy customers," Kim Ericksen Camilleri said in an email to Patch. Immediately following the fire, Walmart referred customers to the store on Osgood Road, near I-680, on the southeast side of the city. The damaged store at 40580 Albrae Street, near Stevenson Boulevard, caught fire around 8 p.m. In the aftermath of the fire, the City of Fremont said in a statement, "The preliminary investigation indicates the incident was an arson that was associated with a burglary involving multiple suspects. Detectives from the Fremont Police Department have taken over the investigation and are reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses in order to identify the suspects." A Fremont Police investigator has not yet responded to a Patch request for an update on the investigation. Camilleri could not provide a timeline for the full reopening of the store, however she said that Walmart is working toward that goal as quickly as possible.
