WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) announced Thursday that she has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The news comes hours after Speaker Nancy Pelosi also tested positive for the coronavirus. Craig and Pelosi were together at the White House on Tuesday for an event celebrating the anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act. President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama were also at the event. "This week, as part of my regular testing routine, I received several negative COVID tests while in Washington," Craig said in a statement. "But after learning that several of my colleagues had tested positive this week, I sought an additional test today. This afternoon, I began experiencing mild symptoms and soon after learned of my positive COVID test result." Craig said she immediately isolated herself from staff and colleagues, and began quarantining when she learned the result. She said she is fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. "As soon as I'm able, I look forward to resuming my regular routine," Craig continued. "In the meantime, I will continue my work remotely on behalf of Minnesotans. I encourage everyone to get vaccinated and receive their boosters as soon as possible in order to protect themselves and their communities." Craig represents Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District.
