DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The Douglas County Board of Commissioners is thinking of banning big trucks on more county roads, and it wants to hear your opinion on the matter.
On Tuesday, the board voted 4-0 to advertise a public hearing on prohibiting trucks with more than six wheels on portions of 10 roads, according to The Douglas County Sentinel.
Those roads are:
Johnson Road from Mason Creek Road to Pool RoadPool Road from Ephesus Church Road to Bill Arp RoadTyson Road from Conners Road until it endsChapel Hill Road from Interstate 20 to Highway 166Lee Road from South Sweetwater Church Road to Fairburn RoadMount Vernon Road from South Sweetwater Church Road to Fairburn RoadSouth Sweetwater Road from Mount Vernon Road to Veterans Memorial HighwayPost Road from Veterans Memorial Highway to the Carroll County lineRiverside Parkway from Thornton Road to Fairburn RoadMalone Road from Huey Road to the Douglasville city limit County transportation director Miguel Valentine told the board that residents often complain of truck noise from those roads, according to the Douglasville newspaper.
