Some Douglas County Students To Return To In-Person Learning

LITTLETON, CO — Some students in the Douglas County School District will return to in-person learning after the holiday break, district officials announced Thursday. Preschool, elementary and alternate education students will return to full in-person learning Jan. 5, the district said. Middle and high school students will begin remote learning Jan. 5, but the district is looking at a possible return for middle school students to hybrid learning Jan. 25, officials said. The Douglas County Board of Education is scheduled to meet Jan. 19 to discuss the possible shift, and whether it will be feasible. The board is set to meet Feb. 16 to discuss whether high school students can return to hybrid learning Feb. 22 to March 1, officials said. Like what you're reading? Douglas County is under 'Level Red' on the state's COVID-19 dial, and school district officials said the transition to in-person learning will hinge on recommendations from the Colorado Department of Public Health.
