Description
It's difficult to even begin to compare my own singing to a late great such as Lanegan, but I believe I have some of the lower register vocal chops required to truly honor him. My favorite album of his, by far, has to be his 2nd solo album WHISKEY FOR THE HOLY GHOST. The goal I have in mind for this musical partnership is to some day perform the whole thing live. There would be guest spots, such as additional guitarists, female vocalist (Sunrise), sax (Sunrise), etc
Who will attend? I have no fucking idea
If you are a serious acoustic guitarist/multi-instrumentalist that is interested in WHISKEY FOR THE HOLY GHOST songs, please let me know! I believe some of the songs require baritone guitar. I have both an acoustic and electric, but they are lefty.
I myself am a multi-instrumentalist and play (lefty) guitar, bass, keys and (righty, there's a story there) drums. These songs require so much energy and focus to sing, that upon playing some with guitar in hand, it's just a fools errand to attempt. There is absolutely no reason for me to try to do this myself, the singing needs all my attention for these songs. We can practice at my house in my living room where I have a recently tuned upright piano, vocal PA and a couple amps handy.
P.S. I'm dealing with allergies right now. I'm new to this, and going to seek the help of a doctor with it. Right now I'm taking some over the counter medication that seems to clear up my sinuses, but not to 100%. Please be patient with me while I learn to deal with this. It can knock out my singing entirely. What I mean by that is, it becomes suffocating to sing the same songs when I can't properly replenish my supply of oxygen in between breaths. Fortunately, this is just a hobby for me right now.
