Description
Pharaoh is a 60 pound, neutered, 3 year old Alaskan Husky. He was on track to be the main leader of my 2022 Iditarod team, until he came up with a shoulder issue about 1,000 miles into our training season (early December). After consulting with our veterinarian, the issue appears to be related to his build, and we've accepted the fact that long distance racing is not in the cards for Pharaoh.
Pharaoh is a hard-driving, super happy, perfect gee-haw leader. He would be an excellent dog for skijoring, bikejoring, or canicross. He also has great voice recall, and is wonderful off leash. He is highly motivated by food, and could learn anything else you want to teach him. Pharaoh gets along great with all other dogs - male and female. Pharaoh also loves children.
We're looking for a primarily PET home for Pharaoh, where he can also enjoy some of the activities listed above. Pharaoh could also be used for recreational mushing, but since he won't be racing, we'd like Pharaoh to enjoy life as an indoor-outdoor dog, not just in a dog yard.
The adoption fee for Pharaoh is $300. This is not negotiable, but it is refundable in the event that you take Pharaoh and realize he isn't a good fit for you. To meet Pharaoh, please text or email. We have poor cell service at our home, so phone calls can be spotty.
