LITTLETON, CO — A man is accused of threatening a Black woman with a gun and making racist remarks while she was inside her hotel room in Littleton, police said. Douglas Murphy, 51, was arrested in connection with a 'bias-motivated' crime case, police said. He faces several charges, including attempted aggravated assault with a firearm and menacing, according to the Littleton Police Department. On Sept. 20, officers were called to a hotel in the 8200 block of Southpark Circle after a report of a "suspicious male who was harassing patrons," police said in a news release. "Officers learned a white male had been ringing the doorbell and making racist remarks outside a room occupied by a black female," the release read. Officers were able to identify Murphy and he was arrested. No further details about the case were released.
