CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, CO — A driver was critically injured Saturday in a crash in Cherry Hills Village, fire officials said.
Firefighters were called to the Caribou Coffee shop at 1400 East Hampden Avenue just before midnight after a vehicle crashed into the business, South Metro Fire Rescue said.
The driver had to be extricated from the car and was hospitalized in critical condition, fire officials said. As of Sunday morning, the driver's condition was not known.
The car crashed into the coffee shop's storage area and caused "extensive damage" and a water leak, fire officials said.

The fire department's technical rescue team set up a system to pull the car out after firefighters removed material from the building.
No further details about the crash were released. An investigation was underway.
