Get started in the exciting world of real estate development! The New Home Company is searching for a Construction Assistant. Help with supervising and coordinating construction activities as required to meet production schedules and established quality standards. Specific Job Duties Job Site and Community Management: Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of job sites on a daily basis. Lock homes under construction at the end of each workday and ensure all windows are properly closed. Perform load counts for dirt removal. Maintain the sandbags during winter construction. Maintain the company storage facility. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the construction trailer. Perform pick up items that do not fall in a Trade Partner’s scope of work. Materials Management: Deliver appliances and light fixtures to homes for installation. Inventory material deliveries for hardware, windows, light fixtures and appliances and report any quantity or quality problems to the Site Manager. Construction Activities: Report any necessary repairs on homes under construction to the Site Manager. Perform general repairs and punch out work. Report any problems, damages, oversights or hazardous conditions to the Site Manager. Perform any necessary model maintenance work. Assist with all other special projects or tasks as directed by management. Make sure all SWPPP activities and reports are completed as required and in a timely manner. Continue to improve construction knowledge by learning and understand the schedule, sequence of work and requirements. Managerial Responsibility: Does this position supervise other employees?  No            Education Associates degree or applicable trade school certification preferred. Experience Prior construction experience preferred. Skills Ability to read, write and speak English required. Ability to speak a secondary language preferred. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Must present a clean, neat personal appearance. Good organizational skills required. Must be punctual.
