Description

Basic Function: Perform routine quality and food safety testing and monitoring of: 1) incoming raw materials 2) in-line production/product 3) finished products 4) plant sanitation Keep accurate records of all monitoring and test results. Assist Quality Assurance Supervisor in QA data management, and the QA and HACCP programs maintenance and modifications. Essential Duties: 1) Perform QA and HACCP monitoring, record-keeping, reporting, and associated activities, in support of production of the various UCS products, as established by existing Company and/or customer standards and specifications, including but not limited to finfish steaking, filleting, regrading, boxing, crab cutting/portioning, crab cluster grading. 2) Review and oversee the daily QA monitoring/testing procedures for consistency; routinely review QA reports for product conformance to Company standards or customer standards. 3) Supervise/train other UniSea Inc. cold storage QA personnel, or designated production personnel which have been assigned QA related duties. 4) Assist in and/or coordinate the resolution of quality and HACCP problems, both for product produced in the Redmond facility, and occasionally for product stored in Redmond for UniSea, Inc. Alaska operations. 5) Assist in the performance of a variety of special projects as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager, including but not limited to, QA database development, quality, and HACCP trend analysis, revising existing QA or HACCP monitoring procedures as needed, developing new QA or HACCP monitoring procedures. Requirements: High School diploma and must have a good understanding and working knowledge of algebra. 3-5 years of food quality assurance experience required. Seafood HACCP Certification, or ability to obtain certification. Must be able to work in refrigerated production area and able to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds (lifting assistance is available). This is a non-exempt position, hourly starting wage - $18.05 plus $1.00 per hour lead premium.
