Touro University California is looking for adult volunteers ages 20-55 years with prediabetes or hyperinsulinemia to enroll in a research study to help better understand the impact of the sugar, fructose, on health. The study consists of a screening visit (1hr), a baseline visit (4hr), and 4 separate test days (~7-8hrs each; 2-6 weeks apart) at the Metabolic Research Center on the Touro University California campus on Mare Island in Vallejo. Individuals who have a larger waist circumference, poor diet, inactive lifestyle, family history of diabetes, or history of gestational diabetes are more likely to have prediabetes or hyperinsulinemia, which we will test for. You may receive a copy of your test results and up to $1,000 for completing all 6 visits. Please fill out this brief survey to help us understand if you may qualify.
