NEWARK, NJ — A speeding car plowed into a crash site in Newark on Thanksgiving evening, injuring seven people, including an off-duty police officer, authorities said. The crash took place around 10:10 p.m. near Route 21 and Riverside Avenue, when a "speeding" Honda collided with two other vehicles at the site of a previous accident, causing one of them to smash into a Newark police car, authorities said. None of the injuries were life-threatening, police stated. None of the officers on duty at the scene were hurt, as they were outside their vehicle at the time of the crash, authorities said.
