Leading Local Finish Carpentry Company seeks a Carpenter’s Helper for high-end work – wood window and door work with a plus if they know finish carpentry. Please do not apply if you are not willing to work hard eight hours a day and some overtime. Sat work also. General Summary: This person will assist and help in a wood working shop. The qualified candidate will be considered for on-the-job training, assuming skills and requirements are met; such as capable of working independently, able to receive and follow instructions, and have reliable transportation. Job Responsibilities: • Assist carpenters with preparing the layout of the project. • Assists in the installations of window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s tools. • Aim to achieve high production, with good quality output. • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. • Moves necessary materials around as assigned. • Cleans up worksite debris. • Perform other duties as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience • Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers • Work to a high standard • Good working knowledge of hardware and tools • Good grasp of math and measuring instruments Preferable Knowledge, Skills, and Experience • Ability to read and understand blueprints and plans is a PLUS! • Experience working on a job site environment is a PLUS! • General knowledge of job site safety is a PLUS! • Construction Experience: 1 year (preferred but not required)
