Description
LAKEWOOD, CO — The Action Center is seeking donations of non-perishable food items to help those who are most vulnerable amid the spread of the new coronavirus. While many families are busy stockpiling their own supplies, the center's volunteers are collecting items for those who would be hit the hardest by a COVID-19 emergency.
The organization will be receiving the community's donations from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at 8755 W 14th Ave in Lakewood.
The Action Center is in need of canned fruit, hearty soups, pasta and sauce, cereal and peanut butter.
"We are taking extra steps to ensure the continuity of our services and expand our capacity to meet the needs of our community," Action Center Executive Director Pam Brier said in a statement. "This mega donation drive means that we will be able to continue providing critical services during our community's time of need. We know that these particular items can make all the difference in a time of emergency for those who depend upon our services."
