Jeffco Public Schools To Begin With 2 Weeks Of Remote Learning

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Jeffco Public Schools will begin the school year with two weeks of online learning, district officials announced Thursday. Online classes are scheduled to begin Aug. 24. Beginning Sept. 8, the district will offer both remote and in-person learning options. Middle and high school students will be offered a mixed schedule of both remote and in-person learning. Between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4, students who've chosen in-person learning will have an orientation at their school, officials said. Each school will issue its own schedule for the orientations. Students who choose remote learning will also be asked to participate in an orientation session, and they will receive a schedule that's developed by their school. Schedules for both remote and in-person learning are expected to be issued by July 31, officials said. Jefferson County has seen a spike in the number of coronavirus cases since early July, health officials said.
