JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — More than 300,000 ballots have been cast in Jefferson County, officials announced Monday.
"73% of active registered voters have already turned their ballots in," Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder George Stern said in an elections update. "We were at 58% at this point in 2016."
If you haven't returned your ballot yet, you can go to any in-person vote center in Jeffco; however officials are encouraging voters to use drop boxes whenever possible amid the coronavirus pandemic. Twenty-one new drop boxes were added in the county, many of which don't require voters to get out of their vehicles.
"Don't wait for tomorrow – get your ballot into a drop box today," Stern said.
"If you need to register to vote, obtain a replacement ballot, or access additional voting services, head to one of our 32 in-person vote centers today. Wait times (which have averaged 0 to 5 minutes at all locations so far) will inevitably be longer tomorrow – take advantage of shorter lines while you can."
Drop boxes and vote center locations can be found here.
As of Saturday, 306,837 ballots were returned in Jefferson County:
