JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO —Dry weather in Jefferson County has led to another day of critical fire danger. In a post, Evergreen Fire Rescue and Jefferson County's sheriff said the increased risk of fire continues from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the Denver metro, southern foothills, South Park and Palmer Divide areas. Portions of the plains are also at increased risk. During red flag warnings, all outdoor burning is banned. Residents are also urged to avoid throwing cigarettes out of car windows and operating any machinery that creates sparks or heat when in dry grasses. Anyone who sees flames or a smoke column is reminded to call 911 immediately. Red Flag Warning today! Warm and dry weather will lead to critical fire danger through this afternoon.
