Facilities and Safety Manager Childpeace Montessori School is seeking a Facilities and Safety Manager. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, year-round position. The working hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with evening and weekend work on occasion. The wage range begins at $26.00 per hour, depending on experience. The Facilities and Safety Manager supervises two employees in the Facilities and Safety Department and is responsible for supporting the mission of Childpeace Montessori School by ensuring that campus buildings, equipment, playground, and surrounding grounds and properties are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining all facilities equipment and systems to assure they are operating correctly and efficiently. These include electrical, mechanical, security, fire suppression, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems as well as equipment and furniture. This position is also responsible for implementing all policies and procedures pertaining to safety, security, and building operation, and serves as a 24-hour emergency contact for the City of Portland Fire and Police Departments. Minimum requirements: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a college or technical/trade school and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, Additional qualifications: • Able to interface with a diverse community with respect and empathy • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Able to see the big picture while tracking many details • Proficient with computer programs like the Google G Suite and Microsoft Excel • Must possess a valid driver’s license • Security guard training certification required (DPSST Unarmed Security Certification, school sponsorship negotiable) Physical Demands: • Must be able to walk the campus and crouch, bend, and twist repeatedly • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and safely • Ability to operate a lawnmower, leaf blower, and other power tools • Comfortable working on ladders, hydraulic lifts, and scaffolding About Childpeace: Our staff works with hundreds of toddlers through adolescents in their educational journey every year.
