Auto Body Painter & Repair Man Small business, family owned. Compensation: Hourly rate $20-$30 base + Bonus incentives on top of base salary. No cash, must be on payroll…. Employment type: full-time, Weekends off, Monday-Friday only, unless otherwise notified. Job title: Auto Body Painter & Repair Man We are always taking applications for full time employment May have a new opening in 20 to 30 days as current employee may be moving Collision Painters / Collision Repair men. Painter would also be helping body man when not painting. Auto body is a portion of our shop and cannot always keep the painter constantly busy just painting. Cannot have the “I AM JUST A PAINTER ATTITUDE” With that said still plenty of work to stay busy, prepping, taping, dis assembly and reassembling, estimating etc… We do light body and paint into medium and very minimal structural, maybe a body pull here and their but mostly fast moving jobs, like bumper and panel repairs. We try to stay away from restore or full paint jobs but every now and then we can't say no to a really good loyal customer. Essential Job Duties • Complete dis-assembly and re-assembly of vehicles • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to damaged area of vehicle if needed • Mend damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards; remove damaged fenders, panels and grills; and bolts or welds replacement parts in position and reassemble after parts are painted • Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.) • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces • Repair or replace defective parts • Exceptional color match • Blend within a panel with adequate room • Help estimate jobs Must have some tools Skill/Requirements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Ability to effectively communicate with others • Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates and work orders • Ability to effectively communicate with others • Ability to work as a team player and positive attitude •Ability to adapt from quick wholesale work quality to customer pay high quality •Estimating skill and knowledge a plus Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Position is based in a normal shop environment with mostly outside facility. Occasional physical activity such as reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to inspect repairs, and lifting and carrying objects over 50lbs. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with high levels of noise. Subject to weather conditions both inside and outside. Required to wear protective equipment when necessary. Occasional sedentary work. Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned. Thank you!
