JobSource is looking for a Seafood Clerk in the city of Gardena Shift 1st PAyRate $15-$16 hr. Job Duties 1. Display- Set up fresh seafood cases and ensure products have proper signage and are well-merchandised following company standards; showcase quality and freshness to drive sales in the department. 2. Sales Floor Maintenance - Keep aisles and common walking areas clean/cleared of boxes and debris to prevent injury. 3. Replenish- Unload and break down deliveries. Refill products to meet customer needs and rotate for freshness. 4. Processing- Skin, clean, and cut fish upon customers’ request. Frying and/or steaming seafood products upon request by using a fryer and steamer. Change fryer oil and clean fryer and steamer on a daily basis. 5. Logs- Use equipment appropriately and keep accurate logs in accordance with all company policies and state food safety and health regulations. 6. Stock- Stock, ship and distribute product items to production teams. Follow the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method. Monitor the cooler/freezer temperature to ensure that company standards and required regulations are followed. 7. Customer Service - Proactively reach out to customers. Provide excellent service to customers 8. PI Count- Work with other team members to conduct monthly inventory count. 9. Fish Tank Maintenance - Clean seafood tanks and change appliances on a regular basis to maintain the freshness and quality of products, and maintain the cleanliness of seafood tanks. 10. Cleaning- Follow the company policy to clean the walk-in cooler and freezer, clean and sanitize display cases, scales, and counters in a safe manner, and maintain work areas clean. 11. Quality Control- Inspect the quality of seafood products and remove any unmarketable items to keep the overall appeal of the department. 12. Sales - Cut, wrap, and pack the items at the customer's request accurately and efficiently. Minimum Requirement ● Previous seafood department experience is preferred. ● Knowledge of general seafood product lines or similar experience. ● Available to work on weekends and holidays or on rotating schedules. Skills Requirement ● Ability to communicate effectively to customers and team members. ● Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and other company policies. ● Ability to inspect and evaluate the quality of products. ● Requires proper training and knowledge of equipment operation. Physical Demands ● Standing for extended periods is commonly required. ● Good manual dexterity for the use of processing equipment such as cutter or labeling.
