LAKEWOOD, CO — A man was arrested Thursday night after a long standoff with police at a home in Lakewood, officials said. Vernon Hazel, 54, is accused of "shooting multiple rounds from a firearm both in and out of the home," according to the Lakewood Police Department. Police were called to the 900 block of South Sheridan around 3:55 p.m., and a Code Red shelter in place order was issued to the surrounding neighborhood, police said.
