DO YOU SEE THEM? HUMAN TRAFFICKING: KEEPING OUR children SAFE ONLINE Presented by Catholic Charities – Pathways to Freedom, Human Trafficking Program What is human trafficking and how does it happen? How is human trafficking affecting our youth and our community? How do traffickers target youth? How can you keep your child safe? What do you do if you think your child might be at-risk or a victim of trafficking? Through a grant awarded by the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, and in response to these important questions and others, our team has been posed by educators, school administrators and school district staff alike, we developed our introductory overview training, “DO YOU SEE THEM? HUMAN TRAFFICKING: Keeping our children safe” Through our training, parents and caregivers are able to become more mindful of the reality of human trafficking and how to recognize potential indicators and red flags that a child may be a victim of trafficking. In this in-depth overview, our Pathways to Freedom subject matter experts, who work directly with survivors of trafficking and those who support them will provide an opportunity for deeper discussion of topics raised and provide tips and strategies for parents and caregivers in addressing human trafficking. The training is designed to provide parents and adult caregivers with trauma-informed and survivor-centered information to help protect children from online trafficking activity.
