We are a sustainable interior design studio based in Red Hook, bk. We create custom furniture and commercial interiors from rescued materials. The ideal candidate for this position would have moderate carpentry skills as well as abilities in other areas of fabrication including painting, crafting, sanding and finishing with a positive attitude. You will be assisting in the woodshop, with inventory management, procurement of materials and moving of furniture pieces. You will be responsible for assisting with local pick-ups from our procurement partners in the neighborhood. Having a license is not required but a plus. You must have a good attitude about doing all aspects of the job, understanding everything you do is a chance to learn. We are a tight knit team who work in unique and creative ways. Be prepared to work quickly and follow directions. Skills: • Self starting, with an ability to keep yourself busy and motivated on your own, good work ethic • Quick learner with a good attitude • Understanding the ins and outs of maintaining a woodshop • Comfortable lifting 50 lbs • Good people skills and an enthusiasm about sustainability • Happy working in a non-traditional atmosphere • Drivers license a plus, wood shop experience also a plus.
