In this compelling presentation, Jennifer Fulwiler will recall her spiritual journey, from a lifetime of atheism to the Catholic Church. Jennifer Fulwiler told herself she was happy. Why wouldn't she be? She made good money as a programmer at a hot tech start-up, had just married a guy with a stack of Ivy League degrees, and lived in a twenty-first-floor condo where she could sip sauvignon blanc while watching the sun set behind the hills of Austin. Raised in a happy, atheist home, Jennifer had the freedom to think for herself and play by her own rules. Yet a creeping darkness followed her all of her life. Finally, one winter night, it drove her to the edge of her balcony, making her ask once and for all why anything mattered. At that moment everything she knew and believed was shattered. Asking the unflinching questions about life and death, good and evil, led Jennifer to Catholicism, the religion she had reviled since she was an awkward, skeptical child growing up in the Bible Belt. Come listen to her profound and often funny story of conversion! About Jennifer FulwilerJennifer Fulwiler is one of the most famous Catholic converts of our time. She is a standup comic, bestselling author, and mom of six. Her podcast, “This Is Jen,” debuted in the Comedy Top 10 on iTunes. She self-produced her first standup comedy tour — booking theaters across the country with nothing more than a Google search and her personal credit card — and sold out almost every show. Her first comedy special, “The Naughty Corner,” an hour of comedy about the absurdities of modern parenting, was filmed during this tour. The special was recent picked up by Amazon Prime. Her first book, Something Other than God, a memoir about converting to Catholicism from lifelong atheism, was a finalist in the Goodreads Reader Choice Awards, ranking alongside books by Hillary Clinton and Rob Lowe. Her next book, One Beautiful Dream, was a Wall Street Journal bestseller, hit the Amazon Top 25, and was a #1 bestseller at Barnes and Noble. Her newest title, Your Blue Flame, was featured on “The Today Show.” Many people know Jennifer from her time as a SiriusXM talk radio host, and even more people know her for quitting her stable job as a SiriusXM talk radio host in the middle of a pandemic. She lives with her six kids, husband, a huge dog, and a one-eyed cat in a three-bedroom house in Austin, Texas. Follow her on Instagram at @JenniferFulwiler.
