Santa Barbara Black Culture HouseDay 2: April 10, 2022 - 2pmLive Music With Chillpoint/JUST ADDED: blak emoji (solo)Santa Barbara’s Black Culture House returns for in-person programs in April, 2022. Black Culture House, a pop-up space with a wide range of cultural events celebrating Black culture and history, will be hosted at The Alhecama Theater on April 9, 10, 16, 23, and 24. All events, which include live music, film screenings, and a panel discussion, are open to all members of the community and are FREE. Events produced and curated by Darrell M. McNeill and Sally A. Foxen-McNeill. Prerecorded DJ mixes by DJ Kyle McNeill. The 2022 edition of Santa Barbara Black Culture House will be hosted at Alhecama Theater, located at 914 Santa Barbara Street – Unit A, between East Canon Perdido and Carrillo Streets. Doors open at noon. All events are all ages and FREE to the general public. The Santa Barbara Black Culture House is sponsored by the Black Rock Coalition and made possible by a grant from The Santa Barbara County Office of Arts & Culture, and additional partnership with The Santa Barbara Trust For Historic Preservation and The Santa Barbara Public Library. Sunday, April 10, 12:30 pm - Live music with Chillpoint: Brian J. Fox (bass), Craig Thatcher (drums), William Fiedtkou (guitar and Vocals) and Daniel LeMelle (saxophone) have played, recorded and toured with a wide variety of national and international acts. They now call Santa Barbara home, and their chemistry was immediately apparent when they started playing together. Chillpoint is playful, has great energy and bring just the right amount of chill. Their music draws from a wide range of styles: Reggae, RnB, and Rock along with a little bit of Funk, Jazz and Latin fusion. JUST ADDED: New York's punk/electrofunk/soul polyglot blak emoji opens with a short solo set. blak emoji plays at 12:30pm. Chillpoint Band hits at 2pm.
