HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The county recreation and parks department has closed three community center gymnasiums, Gary J. Arthur, North Laurel and Roger Carter, except for scheduled programs. Access to community center walking tracks will be allowed but by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call the front desk of the community center you want to visit. Fitness rooms will remain open by appointment only and will be limited to five users at one time for the Gary J. Arthur and North community centers and 10 users at one time at the Roger Carter Community Center. Face coverings must be worn at all times in rec and parks' indoor facilities, including its gyms and fitness rooms. However, people using the Roger Carter Community Center pool are exempt when swimming.
