Sip and Stretch! Meet me, Nicole Eilers,(@girlatthebarre) on the second floor of Persnickety Books - Friday, May 6th at 6:00 pm!
We'll move through a 50 minute barre class focused on finding alignment, connecting breath to movement, and stretching after each set of work. Afterwards enjoy wine, conversation, and browse the books!
I'll supply everything you need (mats, music, props) - you just have to show up and have fun!
What is barre? Think ballet meets yoga meets pilates.
Why you'll love it:
1. Barre is great for increasing strength, flexibility, and endurance.
2. Because barre focuses so much on alignment, you'll develop mind-muscle connections that can help you carry out everyday movements in the optimal position - helping to prevent those strains and pains that come from lugging groceries inside, bending over the computer, gazing down at our phone, etc. (all those little habits that eventually lead to big pain).
3. We move to the beat of the music! It's surprising how much motivation you can draw from hearing the beat drop just as you challenge yourself to keep pulsing lower in a squat. You know that feeling of dancing like no one's watching? It's like that.
4. You'll have 50 minutes to make your own. Want to focus on mindfulness? Want to challenge yourself to stay in the burn just a little longer? Want the energetic experience of moving together with a group? Barre has you covered for all of it. Take what you want, make it your own!
