She was the director at The Calaveras Montessori school in Milpitas, where she hired me three years ago. So, I too also have experience working with school aged children. We both come from a Montessori background. And I recently became a new Mom. My little boy just turned one. We are both pediatric first Aid, CPR and Preventive Health and Safety certified. Our philosophy is high scope and Montessori incorporated through adult child interactions, a consistent yet flexible day routine, active learning experiences, and child observation and assessment. Our goal is to build each child's independence through hands on learning in a nurturing environment with our small class size. We have trained teachers in Child Development. Our activities in the classroom promote social skills, emotional growth, and physical, cognitive preparation that lead to academic success. We offer fun activities throughout the day *Arts and crafts *Reading/Writing *Learning activities *Math: the foundations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. *Music/dance *Science *Geography *Cooking Studio *Monthly Cultural subjects *Outdoor play (when weather permits) *Nap time (2 hours) We offer a menu that follows the federal government nutrition guidelines: we serve organic breakfast, AM snack, PM snack. We ask that you bring your child's own lunch on containers for them to learn to open and close. We observe all children throughout the week and every Friday, we send out a weekly report on what your child has been working on, what they have completed, and things to work on at home if you would like. We will also be taking pictures of your children working during the week as well, which be in our online portal for you see them!
