Description
BROOKLINE, MA — Maine State Police are asking for help to solve a cold case involving a Brookline resident who died in a vehicle fire in Amherst on April 5, 1976.
James Cassidy, who was an executive employee of the Brookline Trust Bank at the time of his death and owned a stamp collecting business in Chestnut Hill, was found burned to death inside his green 1971 Chrysler station wagon on a woods road off Route 9.
An investigation determined that the vehicle fire was a result of arson. Forty-six years later, officials are looking for more information about the fire and Cassidy's death.
