Description

BEVERLY, MA — A $75,000 grant to the city will benefit the Beverly Emergency Management Department and the Massachusetts Task 1 Force. The National Association of County and City Health officials awarded the Medical Reserve Corps COVID-19 "Respond, Innovate, Sustain and Equip" grant. Both groups are designed to respond in cases of dangerous or catastrophic conditions. In the past two years, the Beverly-based Massachusetts Task Force 1 was called into action to survey the damage and look for survivors in the Oregon wildfires, as well as in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida in New Orleans.
