POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The Point Pleasant Borough mayor and council races should be quiet for the 2022 campaign season, as only incumbents submitted petitions for the election.
Republican Robert Sabosik submitted a petition to seek re-election as mayor, and Republicans Joseph Furmato Jr. and Charlene Archer are seeking re-election to the Borough Council.
No Democrats submitted candidacy petitions. Monday was the deadline to submit petitions for the June 8 primary elections for Republicans and Democrats.
Sabosik has served as mayor since 2015 and was a member of the borough council from 2010 through 2014, when he defeated Democrat William Schroeder.
Furmato has served on the council since 2014, and Archer is seeking her second term on the council.
