Press release from the City of Austin: April 6, 2022 Austin Parks and Recreation invites community members to a virtual meeting with three finalists for an Assistant Director position. Following an extensive recruiting process, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) invites community members to a virtual meeting with three finalists for one of PARD's Assistant Director positions. Due to no finalist being hired from the previous round, three new candidates (from the original hiring process) will participate. Attendees will be able to provide their feedback on each candidate. During the meet-and-greet, you will hear about the hiring process, candidates' backgrounds, and provide feedback for the hiring manager. The selected candidate will serve on PARD's executive team and plan, direct, and manage the functions and programs of a multi-disciplinary parks and recreation system. This position is responsible for service operations, budgets, personnel, and management for museums & cultural programs, community recreation, centralized programs, and natural resources and programs.
