Marin Readies For 'Mini Heat Wave'

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Unseasonably high temperatures are expected to warm parts of the Bay Area including Marin later this week, the National Weather Service said. The warming trend is expected to start Wednesday and temperatures are expected to top out at 86 degrees Thursday in San Rafael, according to the NWS. The NWS has not issued a heat advisory or warning for Marin. The region is expected to start cooling off on Friday and by the weekend its expected to see a return seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. The South Bay and Tri-Valley areas could see temperatures in the 90s later this week and the Central Valley temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s. The NWS' longer range outlook calls for a slight chance of rain Monday.
