Description
Chandra is a 19 week old mixed breed puppy I adopted as a service dog prospect. She loves stuffed toys, yak cheese chews, peanut butter, carrots, puzzle toys, and most especially getting her breakfast in a Kong. She is smart, eager to please, confident, outgoing, and well socialized (except for kids, I couldn't figure out how to introduce her to children without looking like a creeper). She will calmly watch squirrels, rabbits, cattle, horses, bicycles, other dogs, and people. She knows sit, down, and come here, and will stay in sit/down for a short period of time waiting for her release word. She's crate trained and close to house trained, and responsive to leash pressure but I haven't taught her a formal heel. Chandra waits politely in her crate to be leashed or told 'free', and sits politely for her meals until told 'take it'. She also knows go inside, go potty, and get in the car. She is well behaved in stores but also very curious about everything. She's spayed, fully vaccinated, (will receive her 2nd dose of lepto this coming Saturday) and on heartworm preventative. Why is this awesome little doggy looking for a new home? 1) She resource guards food, growling if another dog approaches while she's eating or has a chew. I've worked on this but haven't been able to completely stop it, and unfortunately it's time to give her an F for service dog prospect. 2) She has separation anxiety and barks when her human is out of her sight. She goes to daycare while I'm at work, but that isn't a long term solution given my financial situation. I've put a lot of time and money into training and socialization, but she's made it clear she'd rather be a trail dog/adventure partner/cuddle buddy than a service dog. She could also excel as a crag dog, since she's had a lot of practice lying quietly near me and remains calm and relaxed when carried in assorted positions. I'm guessing her mature weight will be around 50-60 pounds, Wisdom Panel guessed 44-80. If Chandra sounds like the dog for you, send me an email and let me know a bit about your situation and what you're hoping for in a dog. Rehoming fee $125 Keywords: puppy, puppies, dog
