NEW LENOX, IL — Illinois State Police man arrested a man in New Lenox Township Tuesday after he led police on a chase in a stolen vehicle, ISP reported Wednesday.
Terrence N. Reed Jr., 25, of Glendale Heights, was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest, according to ISP.
At approximately 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, ISP was alerted to a stolen vehicle that was being tracked by a Chicago Police Department helicopter, according to ISP. Police said the stolen vehicle was connected to multiple ATM burglaries across the south suburbs, as well as aggravated fleeing and eluding.
Reed had reportedly been involved in an ATM burglary in Joliet, according to a report from WJOL. Patch has reached out to ISP to verify, but has not received a response.
Reed led officers in a chase that ended when Reed abandoned the vehicle in the area of Francis Road at Woodside Drive in New Lenox Township and police caught him after a brief foot pursuit, according to ISP.
Reed was arrested and taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, ISP said.
