Description

Press release from the Wright County Government: April 1, 2022 Starting Monday, April 11, the Wright County Assessor's Office will be conducting Local Boards of Review for residents who wish to challenge/appeal their property valuation or classification. All cities and townships are listed below. Nine cities and three townships have what is called an Open Book Meeting, which will be conducted from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at the Wright County Assessor's Office on the first floor of 3650 Braddock Ave. NE, Buffalo. Those cities and townships are denoted with an asterisk (*). Open Book Meetings are more informal and combines several jurisdictions to have a cost savings and allows the county to review property owner concerns for a longer period of time – up to one week before the County Board of Equalization in June. The other meetings will be conducted at the City Hall or Township Hall of the jurisdictions that have Local Boards of Review. It is important to note that, if the property owner doesn't feel he or she got relief at that meeting, they can appeal to the County Board of Equalization to make their case. However, they MUST attend their Local Board of Appeal to be eligible to have the challenge heard by the County Board of Equalization. Assessor's Office staff will be on hand for these in-person meetings.
