JOLIET, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office recovered possible human remains Tuesday morning near the property of Zenith Energy Terminals on Joliet's Laraway Road, police said. Police responded to the facility just before 8:30 a.m. after workers discovered possible human remains near the south bank of the Des Plaines River and called 911. Police said the remains are in an advanced state of decomposition, but evidence at the scene indicates they may be human. Joliet police and the coroner's office are investigating. According to its website, Zenith Energy's Joliet location is a train facility capable of unloading 85,000 barrels per day of crude oil for three major Chicago-area refineries.
