AURORA, IL — Aurora Central Catholic High School is returning with its annual Super Saturday Night fundraiser. This year, with a theme of "Nacho Average Celebration," the event will take place May 5-7 both in person and virtually. The fundraiser will help support student programs, maintain low tuition costs and help fund the school's new Strength & Fitness Center, school officials said. "At ACC, the health and well-being of our school community is at the forefront of all that we do," Father William Etheredge, principal at Aurora Central Catholic High School and Aurora area superintendent for the Rockford Diocese, said in a statement. As a hybrid event, participants will have the option to either attend or donate virtually. The event will feature a silent auction, raffles and a virtual Fund-A-Need program. With the silent auction, guests can place bids in person or online using a phone or computer. Auction items include destination getaways, luxury items and services, tickets to major attractions, and gift cards to local businesses and restaurants, among other things. The online silent auction opens at 6:30 p.m. May 5 and closes at 7 p.m. May 7, while the virtual Fund-A-Need program and live raffle drawing will run from 7-9 p.m. May 7 at 7:00 p.m. To view the items and raffle baskets, attendees can purchase a "Sip and See" cocktail reception ticket, which costs $45 per person. Each ticket includes access to an open bar, live music, hors d'oeuvres, taco and dessert stations, one raffle entry for a door prize, and a wine pull. The reception will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 5 at the school, 1255 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora. People who would prefer to participate remotely can register online for free. Both online and in-person guests will be able to bid in the silent auction, donate to the virtual Fund-A-Need program, and purchase Class Basket Raffle and Pot of Blue and Gold Raffle tickets — costing $25 a piece of $100 for five. The grand prize raffle winner will receive $2,500, while $1,000 will go to the second-place winner and $500 to the third-place winner. Raffle tickets for baskets, each valued at $500, are available online for $5 per ticket or $20 for five. "Our Super Saturday Night fundraiser will not only ensure our school's continued success in the 2022-23 academic year, but it will provide us with funds to purchase state-of-the-art equipment that will complete our new Strength & Fitness Center, enabling us to offer circuit training to our students, athletes, faculty and staff," Etheredge said.
