Description

BERKELEY, CA — Unseasonably high temperatures are expected to warm parts of the Bay Area including Berkeley later this week, the National Weather Service said. The warming trend, which the NWS is calling a "mini heat wave" is expected to start Wednesday and is forecast to top out at 85 in Berkeley on Thursday. The NWS has not issued a heat advisory or warning for Berkeley or surrounding areas. The region is expected to start cooling off on Friday and return to the high 60s, which is considered seasonable. The South Bay and Tri-Valley areas could see temperatures in the 90s later this week and the Central Valley temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s. The NWS' longer-range outlook calls for a slight chance of rain Monday.
