UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Photos were released by the New York Police Department Tuesday night of the three teenagers wanted in connection to threatening boys on the Upper West Side because they were Jewish, while brandishing a sword, police said. It was reported to police that around 7:25 p.m. near West 86th St. and West End Ave. on Saturday, three unidentified males approached the group of six kids, who are all Jewish boys and teens, ages 12, 13, 15, and 16. The trio made anti-Jewish statements and said that they "wanted to get them" because they were Jewish, police said. One of the three teenagers had a sword, which you can make out slightly on the left side of the police-released photos. The original police report says they also had a crowbar and knife. "My office was informed of a horrible anti-semitic attack," UWS Council Member Gale Brewer wrote on Facebook. "Anti-semitism is abhorrent and an attack on us all." Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
