Here are the top three stories today in Duluth: A jury in Gwinnett County recently convicted two men for their involvement in a local drug trafficking organization. Antonio Jefferson Guzman and Jose Salvador Herrera Guzman, both from Lawrenceville, were both convicted after going to trial; a third man, Guzman Rodriguez, pleaded guilty rather than going to trial. The organization was moving large quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin in 2018. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)After two years of offering free meals for students, Gwinnett County Public Schools will return to charging for meals in the 2022-2023 school year. The waiver that has allowed all students to eat for free will expire on Jun. 30, after which students will return to being charged based on their eligibility. The expiring waiver does not affect qualifications for free or reduced-fare meals.
