FULTON COUNTY, GA — An Atlanta rabbi's son had his sacred prayer item stolen, reported WGCL-TV.
Surveillance video obtained by WGCL shows a person breaking into a car in their Midtown neighborhood stealing the sacred prayer item, reported the news station.
The thief took what's called a "tefillin" which are small, black leather boxes with leather straps containing scrolls of parchment inscribed with the holiest prayers from Jewish scripture, Rabbi Ari Sollish at Intown Jewish Academy told WGCL.
The family is asking that the item be returned to the Intown Jewish Academy or the Atlanta Police Department.
