Here are the top three stories in Atlanta today: On Wednesday, Governor Brian Kemp declared a State of Emergency for Georgia in anticipation of another round of storms. Heavy rain and gusty winds have caused damage starting on Tuesday. According to Gov. Kemp's declaration, debris, fallen trees, and powerful winds are causing damage to property and leaving Georgia residents injured. (11Alive.com WXIA)In the early hours of Wednesday, a man was seriously injured in a shooting at a southeast Atlanta apartment complex. The shooting occurred just before 3:30 a.m. at a gated community on the 800 block of Eloise Court. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 30-year-old inside one of the apartments who was shot in the upper body. Investigators are still working to figure out more details and have not yet released the identity of the victim or the suspect. (FOX 5 Atlanta)According to the Farmers' Almanac summer forecast prediction, this summer is expected to bring downright brutal temperatures. The almanac states Summer 2022 in Georgia is going to be "sizzling."
